⭐ How the match % works
We compare your profile with each job and give points in four parts, 100 points in all. The % is simply your points.
| Part | Points | How the points are given |
|---|---|---|
| Interested position | 35 | The job you want is in the job title: 25. The job is in a category you chose: 10. |
| Skills | 30 | 10 for each of your skills found in the job, up to 3 skills. |
| Education | 20 | Your level meets the job's minimum: 10 (one level below: 5). Your field of study matches: 10. |
| Experience | 15 | You held the same or a similar position for at least the years the job asks: 15. A similar position, but fewer years: 8. Enough years in total, but in other work: 3. |
| Total | 100 |
To keep it fair
- If a job does not ask for an education level, a field of study or experience, those points are left out and your % is worked out from the rest. For example, 60 points out of 85 = 71%.
- Experience counts the positions you held, not only how long you have worked: 5 years as a driver does not count for an accountant job.
- Province, job type and salary give no points. They are shown as notes, for example "in your province" or "pays less than you want".
Example
Noy wants a job as an accountant, has a bachelor in accounting, knows Excel and bookkeeping, and worked 2 years as an accounting officer. For a Senior Accountant job that asks for a bachelor in accounting or finance and 3 years of experience:
- Interested position35 of 35
- Skills (Excel, accounting, bookkeeping)30 of 30
- Education (level and field)20 of 20
- Experience (similar position, 2 of 3 years)8 of 15
